The given book presents an excerpt of my biography. I was born in Ukraine while it was still a part of the USSR. By the will of fate I came to Chișinău, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union when I was just over 20 years old, I found myself outside the former Iron Curtain. All on my own, without a plan and with a few hundred dollars in my pocket. With all the ensuing consequences...
This book describes the thorny path of emigration. My personal story is in the foreground, but it is intertwined with the worldwide phenomenon of global migration and all the challenges related to it, both humanitarian and political.
I can't reveal too much about myself here, because I want the reader to learn it directly from my book. Apart from that, the reading should remain as exciting and enthralling as possible. Because you will be surprised every time by the unpredictable developments in the course of the book.
